THE GRAHAMWOOD ELEMENTARY DRAGON DASH BOOSTERTHON FUNDRAISER
HELP US RAISE MONEY TO PURCHASE FLASHING LIGHTS TO INCREASE SAFETY FOR THE SCHOOL ZONE.
The Dragon Dash Boosterthon Fun Run experience combines a fun fitness event, an interactive character program, and a highly profitable school fundraiser. With Boosterthon, there is nothing to sell and no door-to-door. Students help their school simply by gathering pledges from friends and family in support of that student’s Dragon Dash Boosterthon Fun Run.
“The mission of the Boosterthon Fun Run is to Change the World by strengthening schools and impacting the next generation through Fitness, Leadership, and Character.”
We enhance a school’s fitness emphasis by hosting the fitness event of the year and reinforce the message that “Fitness is Fun.”We believe that leadership is very important. We develop fun, age-appropriate curriculum to give students a foundational understanding of what it means to be a leader.
Nothing is more important than helping students embrace strong character. Our creative team works with child experts to create an engaging character theme that is fun and meaningful.
The Boosterthon program kicks off on Monday, November 4, with a Student Pep Rally where the students receive information regarding the fundraiser. Students leave school that day with an informational Pledge Book and their own personal access code to funrun.com, the website that allows them to see awesome character lessons, music videos, and to make pledges. Be sure to ask your student about their pledge book, and login to funrun.com! Brainstorm with them about who they could ask to sponsor them in their Fun Run. They can approach grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, friends, etc.
The next days are Team Days. The Boosterthon Fun Run Team will visit each classroom to talk about the character lesson of the day and hand out prizes for pledge activities.
And finally, the day that everyone's been waiting for! The FUN RUN will be held on Thursday, November 14. Students run for 30 minutes to upbeat, themed music on the Boosterthon Speedway. Parents are encouraged to attend the Fun Run to cheer their students on!
Most students run between 25-35 laps (35 is the maximum). At the end of the run, laps are tallied and the students review the character lessons they've learned over the last week.
Sponsors can pledge a per-lap amount or a flat donation toward a student's Fun Run. With the lap average being 25-35, if a family friend pledges a dollar a lap, that would be a tax deductible donation of $25-$35.
