Andrew Martin was selected to represent Memphis and West Tennessee at the NFL’s Fuel Up to Play 60 National Summit in Cleveland, Ohio this past summer. “The summit recognizes top programs across the county,” states Coach Martin. “As the program coordinator, I was invited along with my student advisor to the summit to gain knowledge and resources to bring back to the school.” Thanks to Coach Martin’s initiative, Grahamwood was also selected as an Athlete for Hope school for the 2019-2020 year. “We were matched with University of Memphis standout Pauls Pujats. Pauls is an Olympic pole vaulter who is currently training in Memphis for the 2020 Summer Olympics,” says Coach Martin. “Pauls will visit our school throughout the year to motivate and inspire our students.” If that was not enough, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation just announced that Coach Martin’s efforts helped Grahamwood Elementary to make the organization’s 2019 list as one of America’s Healthiest Schools! All of us at Grahamwood really appreciate Coach Martin going the extra mile for our students.
