Grahamwood offers students Enriched Academics in a diverse, nurturing environment, where hope and dreams are encouraged.
Grahamwood Elementary School was built in 1949 and has been growing ever since. Historically, Grahamwood is one of the most diverse and requested elementary schools in Shelby County. In 2018, Grahamwood earned the distinguished Reward School status, the Tennessee Department of Education's highest honor. Additionally, Optional students routinely score above the 90th percentile in Reading and Math on a nationally normed achievement test. A new annex was just completed that will help us keep pace with the growing number of requests to attend our school. We encourage you to schedule a tour to see for yourself the remarkable academic and social opportunities afforded students at Grahamwood Elementary School.
We are very excited about the amount of parental involvement at Grahamwood. Parents are a vital part of our school. For the safety of our students please obey the following rules when visiting Grahamwood, and when dropping off and picking up your child(ren).
All visitors must enter the school through the main door and sign in at the office.
Students must be dropped off at the back or front doors. Parents may not walk their child to class, except during the first day of school.
Students must meet their parents outside the school at dismissal. Parents may not enter the building unless they sign in at the office.
All aftercare students will be checked out in the cafeteria.
Students may not re-enter the building after dismissal, unless accompanied by an adult who signs in at the office.
Teacher conferences must be planned. If you would like to schedule a conference please notify the teacher in writing.
