ColorCycle Makes Recycling Fun!
At Grahamwood Elementary, we are working to teach the concept of being green at an early age. CLUE teacher Peggy Woods is coordinating the Crayola ColorCycle recycling program this year. This amazing program takes used markers and turns them into energy!
“We want to encourage Grahamwood’s stakeholders to collect used markers, highlighters and dry erase markers that are ready to be discarded,” says Woods, “and my students and I will send them to a facility where they will be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more!”
Drop-off boxes are located around the school to collect the markers. “The Crayola ColorCycle program will help keep tons of plastic out of landfills each year. Remember, don’t throw out that used marker,” declares Woods, “ColorCycle it!”
