Tennessee State Chess Champs!

A week after a successful run in the regional tournaments, we are proud to announce that chess coach, Jonathan Beatty, led Grahamwood Elementary teams to impressive success at the state level. The K-3 team won first place in their division. Additionally, the 4th and 5th grade team rocked it by coming in 3rd in the Tennessee State Chess Competition. Coach Beatty also noted that the White Station Middle School’s K-9 grade team came in 1st and the White Station High School’s K-12 team came in 3rd in their divisions—these teams were all composed of former Grahamwood students. Way to go Jonathan, and both current and former Grahamwood Chess Team players!
