Grahamwood Elementary Celebrates Grandparents
Grahamwood Elementary had a large and enthusiastic turn out of over 350 grandparents for our Grandparents Day Celebration Luncheon on September 22nd.
“The goal of the Grandparents Day Luncheon was get another level of family stakeholders involved in our educational program,” stated Principal Pete Johnson. “Special events such as this is what sets Grahamwood apart where learning is not an isolated endeavor but instead a communal effort.”
Grandparents were treated to a full lunch which they got to share with their grandchildren. As it turns out, many of the grandparents were Grahamwood Elementary alumni!
“It was exciting having my two grandmas come to school and meet my teacher. They both said they had fun,” said Justice Saulsberry a 3rd grader in Tasha Neal’s class. “One of my grandmas took a selfie of me and her and posted it on Facebook!”
We applaud our grandparents for choosing to take the time to visit the school and spend time imparting upon their grandchildren the value of education.
